At St Mary’s College we offer numerous cocurricular sports, performing arts, music, art and other general activities.
Opportunities for students range from fun runs and surfing competitions, to sporting rosters organised by Southern SATIS, concerts, eisteddfods, performances and more.
We also hold swimming, cross country and athletics carnivals throughout the year. These events really highlight House spirit and are very enjoyable days with a lot of participation and colour! Additionally, a school musical takes to the stage every second year, as well as various Junior and Senior dramatic, musical and art performances, exhibitions and installations.
Sports
Sporting facilities at the College include the purpose-built Nagle Centre, equipped with high-quality sports flooring and mechanically operated retractable seating.
With the College’s inner-city location, students are fortunate to have top-quality sporting facilities nearby, including the Domain Athletics Centre, Hobart Aquatic Centre, Tasmanian Hockey Centre and the Aurora Sports Stadium to name a few.
Rowing
Students from Years 6-12 can take part in the rowing program.
Contact the College’s Rowing Coordinator, Andrew Pinelli on [email protected] for more information.
For more information about rowing at St Mary’s College, please view the dedicated webpage here.
Parent and carer help for all sports teams
Each sports team requires parent or carer help in order to take part in the competition or roster. We thank all volunteers for their support.
Regular volunteers are now required to complete an online College induction which includes the Code of Conduct and the Catholic Education Child Safety Briefing. The induction will take approximately 30 minutes to complete.
You can complete the induction and upload your WWVP registration card by clicking on the following links and completing the and Child Safety Briefing.
Alternatively, contact the College’s Sports Coordinators, Fiona Rhodes (Junior School) on [email protected]Â and Mia Blignaut (Senior School) on [email protected]Â for assistance.
All volunteers are asked to please view the Catholic Education Tasmania Child Safety Briefing document (this is also included in the St Mary’s College online induction).
